About food waste

Food waste poses a major threat to global food security, the economy, and the environment. Around one-fifth of all food produced is wasted, equal to one billion meals daily, even as 733 million people face hunger. This waste contributes to 8–10% of global greenhouse gas emissions and costs the world about $1 trillion annually.
